Inklings to launch as part of the Creative Scotland Crowdfunder!

We’re not really fans of announcements of announcements, but here we are anyway: 404 Ink will be launching our new Inklings non-fiction series, in full, for pre-order, on Monday 22nd March 2021 at 9am via Crowdfunder! We’ve got eight brilliant launch authors and titles that we cannot wait to share with you, after months of busy behind the scenes work. As a reminder, our Inklings titles each take a deep dive into a variety of topics for the curious reader, all while fitting into your pocket. So why are we telling you now?

404 Ink has been accepted as part of the Creative Scotland Crowdmatch initiative. That means that, on top of running our pre-orders via crowdfunding as we often do, we are in a competition of sorts for match funding from Creative Scotland. After the year that was 2020, and running a small company through a pandemic and generally tumultuous times, an opportunity to be awarded grant funding in this way is a rare and vital opportunity on top of our series launch that can make a huge impact to the continued running of 404, and your support will make all the difference.

You can read more on the Creative Scotland Crowdmatch initiative here. The long and short of it is that we will have all eight Inklings books available for pre-order both individually and in bundles, we have our own goal that we would like to reach to cover the production costs of the launch series - so far, so standard. However, if we reach various levels (of financial support, and number of backers) first, we are eligible for match funding from Creative Scotland up to a potential £10,000. We know more people are turning to independent businesses in these times to support them, and we hope - with the knowledge that each order not only brings you an excellent book, but that each order could potentially be matched to further support excellent writers - that you’ll help us not only launch eight truly brilliant books with a bang, but help us continue to do so for 2021 and beyond.

While any increment of match funding would be amazing, we’re also just excited to finally share Inklings with you after it being thrown out as a mere idea six months ago. If you’d like to be super up to date on when it’s live, keep your eyes on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and you can sign up to our mailing list.

Why not dive back into the cocktail of launch excitement and crowdfunding stress, eh?

tldr: 22ND MARCH. INKLINGS. SEE YOU THERE.
