404 Ink wins Publisher of the Year!

Feels like every week we’re posting news here, but this is a big one: 404 Ink was named Publisher of the Year at Scotland’s National Book Awards! This is, quite simply, huge.

Five years ago, we won the Emerging Publisher of the Year award as fresh-faced publishing newbies, and we considered surviving three years as a business to be the ultimate goal. To be in our seventh year and scooping, quite literally, the top prize in the country for a publisher - particularly after such a tough year for everyone, and one filled with so much exciting publishing across the board - is something we’re incredible grateful for.

Not to get all Oscar-speechy, but none of this is possible without the amazingly talented authors who trust us with their work, the freelancers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our books the best they can be, the interns who join us as a stepping stone in their publishing careers. Publishing is not the easiest, it’s certainly not the most profitable, but it’s a lot more fun when you get to work with such brilliant people day in and day out.

What a note to end 2022 on.
