So, what are 404 Ink up to?
Hello. You found us. If you're here it means that on some level, you've heard of 404 Ink. It's been almost a week since we launched, and we have a few followers, submissions for issue one, and even a few Patrons already. This is all very exciting, and you are all wonderful.
It's been a hell of a week, but we've yet to delve a bit more into who we are and what we're doing. So we thought we should start there.
404 Ink is a new, alternative, independent publisher based in the UK. We think that publishing could be shaken up a little, break outside of its booky bubble a bit more. Those behind 404 Ink (to be revealed in good time) have prior experience working in books and magazines and think that there's a lot of ideas and opportunities in bringing the two together. We're determined to not only showcase incredible writing, but to present it in an exciting and well-designed package, and build a community around what we do.
So, we're starting with a literary magazine. We’re aiming to publish, in print and digital, in November 2016 and May 2017, and to explore a whole range of topics, in both English and Scottish Gaelic (or ‘Gàidhlig’). The first theme is 'error'. We're looking for short stories, narrative non-fiction and comics. Interested in submitting? Get more information here.
This is the start of something - we will be moving onto books in due course, and we're building this with you in mind. Sign up to our mailing list for updates, become a paid Patron and you can get access to super secret pages and announcements first.
